  • Practice Areas

My passion is supporting individuals in their recovery from disordered eating and body image concerns. However, I recognize that these concerns do not exist in a vacuum, so I work to support complete mental health by addressing co-occurring concerns, as well. Learn more about how I can help!

  • Therapeutic Approach

I work to provide all clients with a welcoming and supportive environment. My approach to therapy is eclectic, drawing from Cognitive-Behavioral, Dialectical-Behavioral, and Relational orientations. I am passionate about helping individuals heal from the oppressive forces of diet culture. I incorporate the principles of Health at Every Size® (HAES®) into my work with clients looking to recover from disordered eating and body image concerns. I believe that collaboration is key to creating an effective therapeutic relationship and empowering an individual to grow. No two people are the same and I look to the individual as the expert on their experience. With support and guidance, I believe that all individuals can cultivate resilience through learning new skills and tapping into their inner strengths.

  • Commitment to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

I work to create a safe environment for all individuals to seek support, regardless of size, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability status. I understand that anti-racism and dismantling structures of white supremacy are ongoing efforts that require my conscious effort to address. I am committed to using my privilege as a straight, white, cis-gendered female to uplift the voices of those who have experienced oppression. I encourage my clients to engage me in challenging conversations and I commit to responding with openness, humility, and respect.

“For a seed to achieve its greatest expression, it must come completely undone. The shell cracks, its insides come out, and everything changes. To someone who doesn't understand growth, it would look like complete destruction.”

— Cynthia Occelli
